Woohoo FTC Changes....

Wow, I must be incredibly powerful - one post and the FTC has put new rules in to place for bloggers taking freebies!

Webpro News has the details!

So perhaps instead of getting blog after blog of people commenting on the fantastic products they've *found* - we'll know if they were coerced into their glowing comments.

A $10,000 fine is good incentive for honesty.

How Do You Convince Someone of Love?

Just like the title asks... How on earth do you convince someone you love them?

Or I suppose a better questions is - how do you make someone realise they ARE loveable?

The man I worship cannot understand the depth of feeling I have for him and it's useless explaining. He doesn't see it. He can't see how sweet, kind, thoughtful, intelligent.... I can go on for hours listing his attributes but no one can know unless they know him.

I thought at one time it was a lack of self esteem - now I know that isn't it. He has esteem when he needs it. There is a small pool somewhere inside him he draws on when necessary. But it is as though he cannot see himself through someone else's eyes - which is difficult at the best of times but I believe MOST people can do it now and then.

Hmmm. How do you PROVE it to someone? Tattoo? A huge tattoo of his name across my boobs or buttocks? I don't think so, that tends to be an instant curse on a relationship.

A Hallmark card doesn't really cut it.

Skywriting is too expensive.

I can't have children so I cant present him with the ultimate symbol of our union....

How do I do it?

Genre Blogging?

I love some the different types of blogs I come across on the web. Like I said - my least favourite are the *review* types. What good is a tainted review?

My favourite kind to find are devoted blogs... blogs by people who start them and continue them even though they have nothing to say, but when they DO have something to say I love it.

For example, I came across a boring blog - about self-storage. The guy stayed with it - boring subject though it is - and it turned into something unexpected! Now I am following it like a soap opera! Take a look if you get a few minutes to fill: http://storagenewsandevents.blogspot.com/2009/09/shout-out.html

Another one that held my attention for quite a while was Things My Girlfriend and I Argue About: http://www.mil-millington.com/ but it got too commercial for me.... too difficult to locate the meat of the blog!

Google Ads

Great, so I look to the side of my very first Blog - I talk about alcohol, nappies, butt cream, my fiance - and they Google comes up with SURROGATE ads?

I need to work on my tags or key words or something.

I also should think twice about starting a blog after a glass or two...of wine. But I'll stick with it.

Rants of a Childless Woman

I saw another *Blogger* site where a woman is making another massive bundle over reviewing nappies, nipple cream and bottle softner or some other products. They get the products for FREE for heaven's sake! If Smirnoff sent me their newest poop flavoured alcopop for FREE I'd say it was nectar of the God's!

I'm 42 years old - all my life I wanted children, went through hell to try and have them - perhaps had I known they were worth the fortune these women are making I'd have tried a bit harder!

Two husbands and 3 cycles of IVF are my limit. I now have the PERFECT partner, and although I would relish the opportunity to have his child, that isn't going to happen. The pressure is off and I can enjoy him for the perfect person he is.

There is also the added benefit that he has 3 children himself so I DO get a small taste of what being a mother might have been - but they go home at the end of the weekend...leaving our house quiet and empty, but peaceful...until next time.
